ISSAAS-SEAPPRO Joint International Seminar and Congress 2022

3-5 November 2022, Departemen Proteksi Tanaman dengan program SEAPPRO (Southeast Asia Plant Protection) bekerjasama dengan The International Society for Southeast Asian Agricultural Sciences (ISSAAS) dan Society for Agricultural Education Research Development Abroad (SAEDA) mengadakan Joint International Seminar and Congress 2022 dengan tema "Smart Agriculture: Challenges and Opportunities" 

Joint International Seminar and Congress ini adalah gabungan dari dua acara internasional dari kedua institusi, yaitu Southeast Asia Plant Protection Conference yang diiniasi oleh Departemen Proteksi Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian - IPB University dan Kongres tahunan dari ISSAAS, sebagian besar peserta merupakan anggota dari ISSAAS yang berasal dari negara-negara Asia Tenggara, meskipun begitu ada beberapa peserta yang berasal dari negara diluar Asia Tenggara.

Mengutip dari website resmi ISSAAS-SEAPPRO (https://seappro.ipb.ac.id) inti dari kegiatan ini adalah sebagai berikut: "The Southeast Asia Plant Protection Conference brings together groups of professionals from many countries with common interest in promoting food security for all nations around the globe. Countries in the Southeast Asia has been considered as world food sources due to their agricultural potential. However, pests and diseases problems under tropical climate become a challenge in order to maintain crop productivity. Advancement of science and smart technology helps the development of pests and diseases control method as well as increasing plant productivity. Sharing experiences and discussing plant protection and other agricultural and environment- related sciences and technologies is expected during the conference/seminar. In addition, initiation for establishment of science community for plant protection and other agricultural scinces among Southeast Asia countries becomes an important goal", maka dari itu ISSAAS-SEAPPRO menghadirkan keynote speaker yang ahli dibidang smart agriculture. 

Keynote speaker pertama adalah ahli dari International Rice Reasearch Institute (IRRI) yaitu Dr. Inez Slamet-Loedin yang membawakan materi tentang "Broad resistance to rice bacterial leaf blight through genome editing and pathotracer" 

Keynote Speaker kedua adalah ahli dari IPB University yaitu Prof. Dr. Yandra Arkeman yang membawakan materi "Implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain on Agricultural Supply Chain Management", 

Selain dua keynote speaker tersebut pada acara ini juga menghadirkan 6 invited Speaker yang berasal dari negara-negara anggota ISSAAS, diantaranya
