Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture - IPB University held Guest Lecture Series 27: Pesticides in Plant Protection (PTN1306) & Pathogenesis and Host Response (FIT1627) with the title "Mutations in Rice Blast Fungus: Host Specificity and Fungicide Resistance" which featured speakers Prof. Teruo Sone, Ph.D (Hokkaido University). This Guest Lecture was held in Meeting Room 1 of the Plant Protection Department from 08.00 WIB until finished. Sunday, 08 October 2023. The delegation from the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture - IPB University won First Place in the Scientific Debate at the 2023 Plant Protection Day held by the Plant Clinic, Faculty of Agriculture - Padjadjaran University, Bandung. The PTN delegation consisting of Muhammad Ridho Luthfi Pane, Usy Syamsiatun, and Khasanah Puspitaningtyas defeated the host delegation and became First Place.

Thursday, September 21 2023. Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture - IPB University held Guest Lecture Series 26: Insect Ecology (ENT/PHT 1610) with the title "Ecosystem Monitoring with Acoustics and Machine Learning" which presented speaker Dr. Becky E. Heath (University of Cambridge). This Guest Lecture was held in Meeting Room 1 of the Plant Protection Department at 10.00 WIB until finished. In his presentation, Dr. Becky explained the application of an acoustic system based on machine learning to monitor how healthy the condition of the ecosystem being monitored is. Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture - IPB University held a Webinar (Hybrid) Plant Pest Division with the Webinar Title "Restoration & Conservation in Oil Palm Plantation" which presented speaker Sacchi Shin-Clayton, M.Sc (University Doctoral Student Cambridge). This webinar (Hybrid) was held in Meeting Room 1 of the Plant Protection Department at 13.30 WIB until finished. In his presentation, Sacchi explained several things that are done in the vegetation restoration process in oil palm plantations.
