Department of Plant Protection collaborates with PT BASF Indonesia in the Field of Sustainable Smart Precision Farming

"Agriculture 4.0 gave birth to technologies including the Internet of Thing (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Precision Agriculture and being able to develop sensors, one of which could take action against pests and diseases by investigating using advanced technology."

This was stated by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, Dr. Sugiyanta, M.Si at the opening of the Agriculture 4.0 Webinar with the theme The Future of Sustainable Farming on Tuesday (15/3) organized by PT BASF Indonesia together with the Department of Plant Protection, Faperta – IPB University

In this webinar PT BASF Indonesia introduced a technology in the form of an application called Xarvio Scouting, where this application will help farmers to identify agricultural problems digitally, namely by online analysis of photo results on problematic plants.

In addition to introducing the Xarvio Scouting application, this webinar also discussed opportunities for collaboration between PT BASF Indonesia and the Department of Plant Protection in the form of educational collaborations and internships between the two institutions.
